About WhereToThrive
How WhereToThrive helps people compare relocation options using public data, labeled source quality, and honest data gaps.
What WhereToThrive is
WhereToThrive is a relocation research tool for comparing U.S. metro areas before a move. The U.S. matcher asks about budget, climate, work, community, daily life, family, and practical constraints, then returns a ranked shortlist with fit drivers and tradeoffs to verify locally.
WhereToThrive also includes a Global Beta for early international city research. Global Beta is a screening layer for comparing candidate places with source-confidence labels and verify-first notes, not a substitute for immigration, tax, healthcare, housing, or local legal advice.
Data philosophy
The project uses public sources only and labels per-metric source quality wherever the current dataset supports it. Direct public metrics, formulas, proxies, curated fields, fallbacks, and honest gaps are separated so users can see what is measured and what still needs local verification. Read the U.S. methodology and Global Beta methodology for source and scoring details.
Funding
WhereToThrive is currently free to use. Premium reports may come later, but the free core city-matching and research experience stays free.
